A Google search for S12-430HT shows that on those sites that use that model name the PSU specifications does not differ from the specs of the S12-430/SS-430HB, in other words it's the same PSU.

I have a question regarding the Seasonic S12. At the same temperature, does the fan voltage vary according to DC Output or % DC Output?

Neither. It varies by internal temperature. Output only affects it indirectly by increasing the amount of heat.

In the Coolermaster graph, what is held constant is most likely the ambient temperature around the PSU. With a higher ambient temperature, the internal temperature will also be higher, and therefore it will ramp up sooner. However, the fan speed is still a function of tempereature, not load.

This is the newest version Seasonic S12 430 Watt 430W Power Supply. It has 6 HDD connectors and 4 SATA connectors. The cables are fully sleeved in black sleeving. The cables are also slightly longer to accomodate larger cases. It is RoHS compliant.

This is the newest version Seasonic S12 600 Watt 600W Power Supply. It now has 9 HDD connectors (previously 6) and 6 SATA connectors (previously 4). The cables are fully sleeved in black sleeving. The cables are also slightly longer to accomodate larger cases. This model is nVIDIA SLI and ATI Crossfire approved. It is RoHS compliant.

I think rpsgc is correct about it being for the fan because an old SS series box says Soft-Mounting Rubber Cushion Fan - Quieter operation and longer life.

i know it's been a while since this topic has been posted on, but i would appreciate some opinions from experts. after reading the spcr acticle on the s12-430, i'm convinced i'll buy one for my new build. i'm kind of lost as to power consumption on the new dual-core cpu's though. i'm going to list my new system specs, and i would appreciate anyones opinions as to which version of the s12 i should buy, the 430watt or the 500watt. i read that too much power could hurt a system, and since this isn't a machine for gaming, i thought the 430w would be plenty, but like i said before, dual-core power consumption is a mystery to me.

You need to read this article, and this forum thread.

To make a long story short, even a 330W power supply would be plenty. You may also want to check out this thread for details on how much the A64 X2 processors are specified for. (It varies from chip to chip).

anybody tried replacing the adda fan on a 430w seasonic s12?

what do you think about a Noctua NF-S12 being one of the candidates? looks like they could have more power at lower voltages, so the 800rpm NF-S12-800 could be enough at lower wattages? my system surely doesnt draw more than 90w and the fan speed is always lower than 800rpm (but still audible)

Noctua is not good choice for PSU fan swap, they don't like horizontal orientation (search forums). Try Globalwin NCB or Scythe S-Flex.

My brand new S12-430 has what seems to be an unusually low power factor. Usually it's around 0.87, much less than the 0.99 reported in the review; the power meter seems ok and reports 0.99 for my Enermax Noisetaker 2.

Total AC power draw is under 80W, but this shouldn't be an issue. Any idea?

Why don't you read any part of this review or discussion thread?

The answer is plain as day under your nose: It's a 65W CPU & and you're asking about a 430W high quality PSU w/ 348W capacity on the 12V lines.
