The new Evercool quiet (e.g. low RPM) fans are now widely available in the US:
120x25, 800RPM+/-10%, <16dBA 30.51CFM $10-$8*
92x25, 1200RPM+/-10%, <16dBA 24.15CFM $9-$7*
80x25, 1400RPM+/-10%, <16dBA 16.06CFM $8-$6*
These are now carried by Newegg, SVC.com, and *Nexfan.com among others listed by google (but not froogle). Search "Evercool Green Fan EC-EGF-12".
Here's the Scythe S-Flex D 120mm info for comparison:
120x25, 800RPM+/-10%, 8.7dBA, 33.5CFM $15-$13
The reason these are quiet fans (and I'm sure they are quiet) is that they run at low RPM (with low CFM). It'll be interesting to see what SPCR users think of them.

But it certainly is quiet at 12 volts! and quieter than my Tivo DVR that is the loudest thing running in my den. So now I've got a super quiet computer but a noisy Tivo DVRdinofx wrote:8.7db? I think my gall bladder makes more noise than that. I don't even see how someone could have claimed to measure that low of noise.
