Recently AVG Anti-Virus was updated to version 7.5. Apparently previous versions cannot be updated to this new version. So if you are still running the previous version, even though it still is working, you will get a pop-up stating your free AVG will expire Jan 15, 07. The pop-up does not tell you that you can still get a free version.....I guess they want you to buy the Pro version.
Anyway.....
Here's the free 7.5 AVG anti-virus

If you follow the instructions on the site and choose 'Repair Installation' it will update from a 6.* version.
I have done this on three comps.
Pete
EDIT: I'm sure they were ver6.* ... but can't now be sure

I think it's only for 7.1 to 7.5 upgrades (I'm not sure either).
I did it recently on my XP install but I'm not using an Anti Virus on my Vista installation yet. One thing AVG 7.5 added is Vista support.
i don't like how the link in to pop-up makes it look like you have to buy the product to use 7.5 because they don't give you any obvious link to AVG FREE.

Come on, they have to make money, 30 seconds of searching on their site brings up the link to 7.5 Free Edition.

Good advice! Mine was at 7.1.x and selecting the repair installation option did the trick.
