Sonata 2 + Phantom 500 + AcoustiPack (pre-cut)... a newbie q

Hi!

I'm totally new to silencing Pcs so hoping for your kind help.

I'm buying a new computer for my home studio. The parts that I buy will be asembled by my friend. And however he is a Tech-guy.. he is not a guru, so I have to make it as easy as possible for him.

Also I can buy from only one place where I get huge discounts and their catologue isn't too great although extensive enough. For this reason unfortunately I can't buy most of the "quite" specialist hardware makers listed on this site. So I decided to buy most quite Case plus most quite PSU I could get plus AcoustiPack to put the noise down as much as I can.

Here's what I'm planning to buy:

Sonata 2
Phantom 500
Intel E6600
Asus P5L 1394 S/L 1066FSB
OCZ 2x1GB 533 RAM
GeForce 6200LE 64/250 mb
Seagate S-ATA UDMA 8MB cashe 7200 rpm 1x80GB and 1x200GB
LG DVD+-Dual burner

And AcoustiPack on top of that.

My first question is it a good combination: Sonata2 and Phantom 500? Both in terms of quiteness and easy installation.

Would you advise to get an additional cooler? If yes, then which one.

Thanx a million for your help!

Does your dealer of choice carry Antecs P150 or, even better, Solo cases? I'd recommend the latter along with a 330W-S12 by Seasonic.

Thanx for reply!

Indeed I browsed the catalog and made the following changes to what I want to order:

P180
NeoHE 430

Everything else stays the same.

Unfortunately my dealer does not sell Solo and Seasonic, which obviously the most preffered on this forum. But can you please tell me if the new configuration is ok?

Thanx again!

Also I've read that p180 is somewhat special in the way to fit everything inside and does give problems to newbies in terms of installing PSU's especially.

Would you say its easy to do it with NeoHE? Would you advise to use it with Asus mobo's? As I've read that could be the problem too.

Also here's the list of available PSU makes offered by my dealer:

Antec
Enermax
Mercury
Octigen
OCZ (only above 500w)
Thermaltake
TR2

Your advice is highly appreciated!

Thanx again.
