Anybody tried this program? It cleans up noise from recordings made from vinyl records and other media. I've got a bunch of old 45s I'd like to make into MP3s.....this might clean up the noise. Interesting and free.

Very popular program. No experience with it (to speak of), but I've run across recommendations of it often.

I use it in Windows all the time. I use it for recording from tapes or just general sound editing. Haven't had any major issues with it. Kinda wish the fade in/out could be set to fade to a certain level as opposed to just 0db. But that's a minor thing.

Hello,
I use it a fair bit, in Windows. It is fine; I just wish it could rip CD tracks, but it cannot AFAICT.
I like the 96kHz/32bit float sound quality.

I've used it professionally to record conferences, and it has served me well. It's no pro tools, but it was more stable (and much cheaper) than Peak DV, which we were using before.

I used it make recordings from a microphone and then used the noise reduction feature to get rid of background noise - mainly from my currently noisy PC
It worked fine.
