DDR2 RAM Voltage/Heat Produced

Post by rich5050uk » Fri Jan 05, 2007 5:59 pm

Does DDR2 RAM such as Mushkin EM2-6400 that runs at 800MHz on 1.9V produce significantly less heat inside the case when compared to more expensive RAM that runs between 2.1 and 2.4V?

I am trying to decide what memory would be the best to get for my first build which is going to be based on a Core 2 Duo E6600 and using an Asus P5B Deluxe motherboard in a P180 case.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Rich

More voltage = more heat, so yes.

However, it wouldn't be too significant. As long as you have even a slight breeze over the fans, its fine.
