Asus P5B Deluxe Speedstep

Post by Psychotic Emu » Thu Jan 25, 2007 4:10 am

I have an Asus P5B D-Wifi and I am trying to use speedstep/RMClock/CrystalCPUID whilst overclocking.

I have read the threads by smilingcrow but I am still struggling.

I have an E6400 and like to run it at 3.2GHz and 1.325v (stock vcore - droops to 1.256v under TAT load). In CPUz it states that speedstep is working and the vcore shows 1.05v (droop from 1.1v) but the temps and speedfan say otherwise.

If I run the cpu at stock settings RMClock works but it is not useful since I can manually set the vcore lower in BIOS (1.1v as opposed to 1.162v) since my processor is completely stable at 1.1v (1.05v true) up to and beyond 2.5GHZ

I was running the 0711 bios and am now using 0910 but the same problem prevails.

Can anybody help?

Make sure in your BIOS disable SpeedStep and EIST. Otherwise you won't be able to use RMClock in OS. And disable Spread Spectrum as well.

Mmm they are, I can use EIST/RM/Crystal with under stock settings but not if I alter the cpu settings in bios (ie clock speed or vcore)
