Corsair HX520 power supply at buy.com - $80 after MIR
Hi all,
Just saw this, and thought it was a pretty good deal on one of the best power supplies out there...
http://www.buy.com/prod/corsair-hx520w- ... 70716.html
$80 after a $20 mail in rebate. Free Shipping!
If I needed a new power supply, I'd snap one up, but I don't actually need one...

Careful -- buy.com has AWFUL reseller ratings. IMO you're taking a huge risk ordering from them.

If an MIR wasn't part of the equation, I might have taken a chance. Still, I'd rather have the 620 instead, and ZipZoomFly is still offering a $20 MIR that's running till May 6, not to mention free shipping. You can also pick up the 520 for $95 (after $10 MIR).crispyfish wrote:Careful -- buy.com has AWFUL reseller ratings. IMO you're taking a huge risk ordering from them.
Corsair HX520
I just bought the Corsair HX520 for my modest (non-gaming) rig and am very happy so far.
I've also had good experience with Buy.com so no complaints on service from them yet.

I think the rule of buy.com is to make sure you're buying exactly what you want and the item isn't likely to be broken in shipping. I've had no problems on the 50+ items ordered from there. As long as you don't have to deal with customer service you're clear of any issues usually. The worst issue was probably an umbrella that took about 3 months to ship. This is a pretty hot deal for anyone who needs a psu soon.

I also have order from buy.com dozens of times, and never had a problem except once. A portable CD player arrived in non-working condition. They paid for the shipping label back to them, and replaced the unit with a new one that worked. No complaints here!
Unfortunately, the deal is far less sweet nowadays, at is it only $10 off of $105, for a final price of $95 after rebate. Not bad, but not as good.

yep, buy.com is pretty reliable, reseller ratings aside. Now dealing with customer service there is a nightmare... and shipping speeds aren't the greatest. In fact, they suck. But you do get your product and it tends to arrive intact.merlin wrote:I think the rule of buy.com is to make sure you're buying exactly what you want and the item isn't likely to be broken in shipping.
