Thermochill G3/8" (BSPP Threaded) 1/2" Elbow Barbs

Post by thetoad30 » Sun Jun 24, 2007 8:59 pm

All,

I'm looking for some G3/8" (BSPP) threaded 1/2" elbow barbs that I can use for my Thermochill radiator. Brass or plastic ok.

Tried McMaster Carr, FrozenCPU, Moddersmart, Jab-Tech, DangerDen, D-Tek, Swiftech, and Thermochill, but no one seems to have these things.

Anyone have any idea where to get these in the US?

Thanks!

I would look at places that sell hydraulic hoses and fitings on the internet, and is this what you are looking for?
Also you could just try calling any local stores that specialise in stuff like plumbing, auto parts, aquariums and water pumps, or hydraulic hoses and fittings.

That's pretty much what I'm looking for.

How do I tell if it's BSPP threaded though? I know here in the states the NPT is the standard.

That's why I posted... been to numerous places like ACE, Lowes, Home Depot, etc, and all carry NPT not BSPP...

Thank you.

From McMaster you can get 4860K606 which is a male/male 3/8 BSPP nipple, then 4860K433 with is a female/female 3/8 BSPP 90 degree elbow.

A few photos...regular and modd'ed setup (using AquaXtreme barbs), and on a Thermochill:

Wow these are really hard to find in North America, but I did find some a brass 3/8 BSPP male x 1/2 female NPT addapters.
Also this site might looks highly promising, they seem to have a large selection of plastic BSP threaded fittings. https://www.freshwatersystems.com/default.aspx

The worst part about this is if Thermalchill had used 1/2 instead of 3/8 you could of just used a NPT threaded 1/2 fitting with allot of teflon tape.

Thank you very much, all.

I appreciate all the help.

Marci, that link is great, too, but I wish it were in the USA so I wouldn't have to pay VAT or conversion fees on my credit cards (the conversion fees are the worst... robbery I tell you).
