Y-cable for 4-pin PWM connector

Post by Slangaren » Mon Jun 18, 2007 3:09 am

Hi,

I have for a long time searched for a y-cable in order to connect two 4-pin PWM (NOT Molex) to my CPU_FAN connector on the motherboard.
This just to have fan-control with my MB (P5B-VM) that only has PWM control on the CPU-FAN. I want control for my chassiefans.

Please suggest..

/Jonas

Hi, I'm not sure if you can just have a Y connector for PWM but Arctic Cooling have a range PWM case fans and they have a method for controlling several fans from one header.
120mm example
Hope this helps, Seb

The Arctic Cooling PWM fans have a built-in Y-adaptor in the power cable for connecting several PWM fans to a single motherboard connector. See the installation instructions.

Slangaren .. I had the same problem as you trying to source one of the arctic cooling pwm fans in the uk.

I found a guy selling them in italy via ebay i ordered one off him and it was here in about 4 days.

If this solution is any use to you his username on ebay is overclockers_roma

PC-Cooling.de seam to carry both version of the 92mm and 120mm AC PWM fans.
They could probably ship to Sweeden if you request it, I maybe asking them about UK shipping.

Thanks again,

This was a perfect setup since speedfan didn't work with my MB.
The two chassiefans are now at 600 rpm and very quite at the settng "ultra silent" in Q-fan.
