Fixed It!!
I found out where I'd gone wrong!! I put my power supply in with the fan facing up, using the logic that it would pull any hot air from the lower chamber out better in this position...but that meant the cables were on the opposite side, meaning I was about 5cm short of the P4 power socket.Wibla wrote:I just fed it behind the motherboard plate and then through the hole at the top.. had like 5mm to spare.mr_a_mac wrote:I have just purchased a similar setup i.e. P182, Corsair 620W, with ASUS M/B (can't remember the specs...maybe A8N SLI?). The P4 power socket seems to be in a very similar position to yours, and I'm trying to tidy up my cables at the moment.
How did you feed the cable behind the M/B?
Do you have to take the M/B out to do so?
Can the cable cause any problems if it's in direct contact with the M/B?
Flipped the power supply over, now all my cables are routed through the back. When I have some time, I'll put up a couple of photos...just waiting on some new case fans, though at this stage I only plan on using 1 at the back or top...the supplied rear fan I find very audible...I think it's the loudest component in my computer at the moment!
Cheers,
Andrew

"My P5W DH Deluxe can control normal 3-pin fans on the (4pin) cpu header, non-deluxe cards cant.. just have to choose between PWM and DC"
How do you use the 4-pin cpu fan connector with the Nexus 3-pin connector if your MB does not have this PWM/DC feature?
Do you just connect the Nexus to the motherboard's 3-pin fan connectors instead?
I wanted to connect my Nexus to the 4-pin cpu fan connector since I am mounting it on my Ultra-120 heatsink like you did.
I looked at all the case fans on endpcnoise and none of them appear to have the special 4-pin cpu fan connector.
I'm surprised Thermalright does not include a fan with the 4-pin cpu fan connector with the Ultra-120.

Did a little rebuild on this setup today, lots of blood, sweat and tears, but I think I managed to tidy it up abit.
It still looks abit messy, but airflow is improved, and I've been able to lower fan speeds even more for the same cooling effect.
Considering taking out the mid bay hdd cage rails, as they're not really doing anything now, and are probably adding abit of turbulence
Edit: changes done to the hw setup is as follows:
- Kama bay installed below the DVDRW
- Scythe S-FLEX 800rpm 120mm fan replaced the noctua in the top exhaust (BIG difference in noise on full blast)
- Hooked the kama bay up to the cpu fan header along with the nexus on the U120E
- Got rid of one Seagate IDE drive and a Samsung 320GB (suspicous drive, dropped off the controller), got a new samsung 500GB
- Moved drives from mid bay to lower bay as no SATA/PATA converters were needed anymore.

Hi Wibla, I like your rig.
Do you consider the Nexuses to be better than the Noctuas since you seem to have replaced them all? (scratching my head).
I have S-Flexes but I thought Noctuas were best at low unrestricted airflow.
I took another approach. 2 fans in front + one on cooler and one in lower cage (all like you). But no fans on back and top. Sealed the top exhaust and also the lowest card slots on the back sealed with tape. Got nice airflow through the hot places and less everywhere else.
I kept my DVD below my Kama Bay and empty upper hard drive cage although I guess your changes of this might give a small improvement.
Did it help much with your setup?

the Kama bay helped ALOT, especially when I had the fan running at 12V, but I didnt really need that, so now the kama bay fan is piggybacked off the cpu fan header and controlled by speedfan.. less noise (not that I really noticed it before) and more control...Alex wrote:Hi Wibla, I like your rig.

And about the Noctua's.. sure, they move alot of air, but the P182 isnt a low impedance case, and the one I had mounted in the top exhaust made ALOT of noise as fast as it passed about 900-1000rpm (I had it hooked up on the same PWM as a Nexus 1000rpm fan), so it had to go.

it is! can't mistake that for anything else =P
is your mouse dented, or is that a sticker/skin for it? its just really noticeable to me.
also, would you say that mounting the second monitor vertically is better, or just more aesthetically pleasing? i think it looks good, but i can't say i'd ever do that if i had the same stuff.

Tannoy Sensys DC1
They're pretty good, to say the least... I have a $5.5k system on my desk now because I havent moved out yet, so I dont wanna "waste" the sound on a tv setup i dont use much anyway...
I'm moving out in january, then I'll have to get me some good studio monitors, or I might just keep using the sensys speakers and get new ones for the livingroom

Gorgeous picture Wibla.
MX 518 is one of the best gaming mouse you can get.
I just bought a Steelseries IKARI Optical that I believe has the same optical chip. I like it a lot.
The tracking is so good that the lift distance have become a "bad" issue for some CS gamers.

Some prefer the more expensive Laser version but optical is sometimes better.
I also bought Steelseries new 7G keyboard but it is noisy and expensive but it is very robust.
I am much more satisfied with the mouse but I might like the keyboard better after a while.
