I got a via aqua 1300 pump...120v..and i lost my old swiftech relay =(
What exactly am i looking for? i ebayed 12v relay and got alot of automotive things...that can't be right =P

I know nothing about watercooling pumps but i hopefully know enough about electricity to answer.
I you are just looking for a replacement you can find a Swiftech relay kit at the following URL

If you want to make one yourself, any kind of 12v / 120v relay would be good. If you want an example see (Montreal based electronic surplus store but you should be able to find that in any electronics store) :

which i strongly advise to couple with a socket to simplify wiring

Add some kind of diode to be sure no power is ever fed back to your power supply, wire everything using a molex in a nice utility box, play safe when playing with main and you are good to go.
I did a similar setup in a computer to control a 180mm/120V fan and it works perfectly. Then again, be sure to know what you are doing.

woudn't i need 120VAC?
I too am in canada, and could order from there..but i know a place close by i can pick it up from.

I used the exact same relay in the first link i posted.
The coil inside is actually rated for 12v and using a 12v molex wired from the power supply was enough to activate it. This one might be more complex than you need because it can provide 4 different outputs but just looking inside you can actually see what each of the pins is used for.
As for the output, upon verification with an electrician friend of mine, using a 240 rating for 120 does not matter as the only thing the relay does with main is allowing it or not to go through but the circuit there does not include any component like the coil for the 12V input. And the box i built still did not explode. I am sorry i cannot provide pictures as this one is used on my parents computer at the moment, 300km away from where i am now.
Ordering from addison might be overkill if you're not in Montreal but the relay in the link you posted seems to be the exact same one as the one i posted except yours only has two output channels and from a different manufacturer. The inside is the exact same thing (A relay's a relay) So, unless i am really mistaken, it would be good enough for what you need. Be sure to ask someone in the shop to ensure the amperage rating is enough for your pump.
And do get a socket, it helps wiring without doing a crappy solder job directly on the relay pins.
Finally, be safe. if you make your own 120VAC cable, use one that is up to the job with a way to ground the system. And test everything if you can before wiring it to your computer and pump. You seem to be comfortable enough with rigging this kind of apparatus so i will spare you the rest of the electrical safety course. Not that you can't look it up on the Net.
