And what time was it that you did the setup? Did you have adequate lighting, sleep, etc? Were you by any chance... excited... when you were setting this up? Was your wife yelling at you at the time?

All these are quite reasonable explanations.

I just got mine too, but have to wait until I have more spare parts before I can put it together.

If your Graphics card is slightly too high ala MSI 8600GT/GTS etc.. i have an unorthodox solution for you..

It looks like the 2400 is being replaced by 2480... anybody know the difference between these two cases?

Why would you think this is any different than the NSK2400?? :?:

The only difference is the EW PSU, which is a bit quieter.

Now how can we convince Antec to release the NSK2480b with the ali black front in the UK?

Iwan't one, but not sure about importing all the way from Aus!

Well, would be nice to know how much better this is, and if it is the only difference.

Shame that the 120mm can not be controlled by mobo (without modification). I am currently building a Fusion based HTPC for a friend, and I find the 120mm to loud.

According to Antec Europe the only difference between the 2400 and the 2480 is the psu

That's not going to change if you make them motherboard controlled, unless they're on low they're going to be loud.

I replaced mine with nexus fans.

2 are more expensive than one :oops:

The cpu will be a T7200 (later on the T7600 with a preferable passive cooled Scythe Mini.

Although i am not a real gamer the system will get a passive cooled graphics card.

The mainboard i am using switches graphics card by means of a jumper.
I want to put a switch on that jumper (reachable from the back of the case).
If i want to play a game i use the switch and bootup the system.
If not playing a game i use the onboard graphics.
It seems that way i almost always spare 20W of power.

I would think when i use the passive cooled graphicscard the second 800rpm Scythe would do the trick :?:

Any thoughts?

what's adding the .7" to make it 17"?

i have a 16" deep shelf with a 2" gap in the back. no extra room in the front; glass door. with the lengths of some of the connectors (usb, power, etc) as well as bends in these cords, will this case properly sit on a 16" shelf overhanging on the rear? 18" total.

i've seen a few threads with people asking for htpc cases that aren't so deep. trying to look for one that's simple and elegant; seems this antec fits the bill the best.

what would be a good quiet and cool AGP graphics card that fit this case ? Have been using the 6600GT so would like something better (for video & HD). I'm using an Intel mATX board with 478 socket and probably the Ninja Mini for the mobo. I don't need passive ....

The PSU fan swap seems a bit of work / risky, any better option than buying another PSU like Earthwatts?

Just built mine using NSK2480.
Scythe Ninja mini without fan fitted.
Both case fans running on slow setting.
Using supplied air guide to direct air through the mini.

I am really pleased how quiet the case fans and psu are.

You can hear it in the room, just, but I haven't switched on the TV yet!

Thanks to SPCR for the case and cooler reviews!

Antec Europe categorically state that the NSK2480b does not exist.

So I could probably have a year of use before they admit they do and sell them in the UK.

Might be ready for my next build then.

Strangely enough there has only been a small handful of Fusion/NSK-2400 builds on this forum. Hopefully I will provide a thorough review in a couple days here. Stupid UPS! :p

Read thru other threads w.r.t. suspending drives. But in the NSK2400 the drives are side-way up. What methods have people tried to suspend 2.5" Hard Drives ? I'm using Samsung 120 GB 2.5" drives ... not overeating would be nice of course

Position 2.5" drives for suspension exactly the same way as 3.5" drives in the stock rubber grommet mounts. Run elastic between the vent grid on bottom and the mount bracket on top. Just twist a pair of up/down strands before inserting one end of the 2.5", and another pair of up/down strands for the other end. It works perfectly.

I suspended one 3.5" drive vertically in the original location. I removed the factory drive cage hardware and tied two pieces of vinyl screen spline across to create a "hammock" for the drive. I then used one screw in the side of the drive that is facing up and tied off another piece of screen spline to each side to keep the drive stabilized. I works really well. I'll try and post pictures of it soon.

I'll probably have some kind of review when I finish mine. I picked up a 2480 yesterday and I'm using a lot of spare parts to make a bedroom HTPC. So far, I like the case. I will be using a Scythe Ninja Mini, hopefully fanless.

It's a good looking case.

While I agree that the additional height INSIDE might be nice, that would make the case too large in my opinion.

Stealthed bays would have been nice, as well as a semi-gloss black option for the front (not available in US)
