First, I was wondering how you plan on using 2 geforce8800 gtx on an X38 chipset motherboard (the P5E3 Deluxe you specified).
Second, I also want to buy a PSU able to manage 2 geforce8800 (either GT or newest GTS with G92), that being a later upgrade option (when geforce11800 appears

), along with a quadcore, 2GB DDR3, 2 hd, and 2-3 other PCI cards and 4 fans. And I was at one step on buying Corsair HX620W, BUT I saw this post on jonnyguru’s forum:

He stated that 2 x 8800Ultra x 2 SLI on a 680i board w/ QX6800, 2x1GB PC2 8500, two Seagate SATA drives in RAID0, one optical, one floppy, three fans run at full RPM, no PCI-e cards, on board sound, - pulled out 636W !! That means a PSU with at least 800W
is mandatory !!
Other results on same build are:

- 2 x 8800GTS x 2 SLI : 484 W
