Construction materials and techniques: suggestions wanted

Post by theycallmebruce » Wed Mar 05, 2008 6:21 am

Hey all.

So, I have my appropriately sized aquarium, and a nice sturdy motherboard tray with backplate, ready to build into an aquarium PC (see here: viewtopic.php?t=45613&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0).

Now, I need a way to mount the motherboard tray in the aquarium, such that the backplate is facing up. At this point my only idea is to construct something out of wood which "slots down" over the top of the aquarium. Then, I could screw the metal tray (note the convenient predrilled holes) into the wood.

Whilst I'm sure I could hack this together, I've got no experience whatsoever with joinery or carpentry of any kind. Also, the only power tool I own is a drill. I also have a hand saw.

I'm throwing the door wide open to suggestions for materials and construction tips here. Please help!!

Sorry about the blurry photo:
