Post by riffst3r » Sun Sep 14, 2003 3:35 am

so, i'm back, for a while, until i make another move to canada. i'll be adding a few more systems to our team soon. :D

anyhoo, after i reformatted and installed windows, i ran the client and this is what i got:

403 is access forbidden
maybe someone forgot to set read permissions on the directory?

Welcome back, riff. Actually, I *did* think of you as the local med students were starting their Fall's gross anatomy section (which is on the same floor as my research lab!). Hmmmm......

its as simple as attaching whatever file that has '78' in its file name to an email and typing in my old email address and clicking on the send button! :)

Hey riff, I tried emailing the requested file but the message was returned as undeliverable (nothing specific) to your hotmail. I suggest deleting the Folding@Home directory and completely re-installing the client. It's a bit dodgy to do surgery, I've found. Remember the gross anatomy motto: When in doubt, cut it out...

yeah... surgery's complicating, cutting it out didn't seem to work, i installed (well, ran actually, you don't have to 'install' anything with the beta clients) fah quite a few times and i always got the same problem... even a clean install of xp pro (the things i do just to fold :P) didn't work. i'm convinced stanford doesn't like my ip or it could be my internet connection... i'm on a WAN. like, there's an ethernet cable that runs from my isp's office to my computer... so its firewall/network could be blocking my computer's requests. i think that's also the reason why mirc doesn't work for me either.

thanks for the effort tragus, and thanks wrah for the file (i'm now downloading it at 637bytes/sec.... ayayay)
