SpeedFan readings on negative voltage lines

Post by Ch0z3n » Mon Oct 27, 2008 11:59 am

So, for some reason my SpeedFan tells me that there is almost double the rated voltage on the negative lines (-5v is almost 9). As far as I can tell I don't have anything set up in strange configurations and my PSU is very consistent on the positive lines(12v reads 12.10). I don't know, maybe my setup just hates SpeedFan because it gives me really obviously inaccurate readings, like my idle CPU temp is 12c.

Your setup/config/tools are garbage. The 20 (or 24 if you are using them) pin ATX connector does not include any wiring for -5V so any chain that is reporting any number for -5V is completely fabricating it. And thus trusting it for anything else is risky.

Right, I understand the numbers it is giving me are wrong, my question was if anyone had any idea why.
