I'm not an expert either, but I think you would get better cooling if both fans were blowing in the same direction (Diagram B), rather than working against one another (Diagram A).

I would say definately using them in push-pul configuration, although I'm not sure how big the help will be, depends on much the heatsink impedes airflow.

Having them blow against each other is probably creating some extra noise, possibly even diminishing the airflow as the fans "fight" against each other, also the air doesn't have a proper cooling path compared to just one fan or two blowing the same way.

I'd strongly recommend the second arrangement - have the air flowing in a single direction (towards the rear of the case). The first arrangement will result in considerable turbulence and consequent noise.

I'm not sure that you need both fans (consider all the discussions of push-pull effects) - you might want to consider removing the 92mm fan.

FWIW

You'll probibly gain some cooling with both fans blowing against eachother...if the cooler is in open air.
In a chassi you probibly just mess up the airflow, having a weird hurricane over the cpu :-P
Might be a sound-issue as well

So easy push-pull. Diagram B

I'll settle with diagram b and replace the 92mm with 120mm, I'll post another picture when available, I have to find a 120mm fan with rpm sensor, its hard to find a good 120mm fan with rpm senosr here in my country.

Would Scythe's 100mm fan fit into the Zalman 9500?

No. The Z9500 has the same diameter as the original 7000 series. You'll need a 92mm fan if you want to swap it.

Does someone want to be really cool and test the performance of this with a yate loon or nexus 120, or any 120mm or push-pull config. I am considering doing one of those insted of a nexus 92mm , but it's not worth it unless its like 4-5 crise decrese.

Stupid me shoulda gotten a ninja, but I had like 2 days to figure out all the parts for a new computer before i left on a trip :/

if I had a spare 120mm fan, I'd give it a whirl. Instead I just bought one of those new minebea scythe fans, i used some super strong adhesive backed double sided tape, and it's been working silent for a month now.

My 9500 is not making a smooth sound. I'm thinking of replacing the fan, does anyone know if i can replace it with an 80mm fan?
