Whatever happened to Seasonic?
I noticed some time ago that Ebuyer stopped stocking my favourite brand of PSU. And then looking on Google Shopping it seems nowhere in the UK is stocking them at all, even the websites that still have them listed never have any in stock. Sometimes they are listed as "Nanopoint Seasonic", which is curious... Nanopoint appears to be a UK company (owned by a German company) that lists Seasonic as one of its brands, along with Tagan and a few others. I can't find any evidence that Nanopoint actually owns Seasonic, so why are they listed as Nanopoint Seasonic?
This is a mystery. I want to buy Seasonic PSUs again. You used to be able to get them practically everywhere.

I've always found eBuyer to be quite fickle and on again/off again in its stocking of specific brands. I'm betting its down to what quantities of stock they are able to hoover up cheap off the market. For example a few years ago they would frequently have no Abit boards for months and then a massive glut of them would come in. Antec stuff all but disappeared from their site for a while too.
Seems to me plenty places still have Seasonic stuff - e.g. Scan: http://www.scan.co.uk/Search.aspx?q=seasonic

There are so many PSU's OEM'd by Seasonic you might be able to find one you like that is Seasonic built, but retailed under another brand name. Check the PSU reviews at [H]ardOCP. They will give you the OEM as well as some other acceptable OEM's.Moon GT wrote:hmm they do 380W and up, quite expensive though.
I think what I really liked about Seasonic best is the fact they do a 330W one. Anything less than 500W is becoming increasingly difficult to find these days, excepting cheap and nasty ones...
I encountered this the other day:
http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=12015
tempting to see if I can fit one anywhere in an Antec NSK-1380.
