What happened to the Anitech SilenT3?

Post by ist.martin » Tue Apr 07, 2009 6:50 am

I sent a friend to Anitech for an off-the-shelf silent system, and find out that it is no longer offered?

Are they upgrading to a newer revision, or getting out of the silent business?

Good question, I was wondering the same thing.

Mine's developed a fan rattling and I'm not sure if it's the Scythe shuriken or the Sapphire DDR4 Radeon fan. I am going to swap back in the original passive 9500GT to see.

I put in a passive 4670 (which idles at 60C and loads at 90C) and the intermittent clacking seems to be with the Scythe Shuriken's fan. I'm going to order 3 Scythe Kaze-Jyus (low-med-high flow) to replace.

Anyone know how easy/hard the Scythe clip system is to replace fans?

The former. afaik, the Asus package has been discontinued, and the newer versions use proprietary HS & mounting schemes that may not be quiet enough. Being explored right now.

It's been a couple of months. Is there a new SPCR designed system in the works?

I've moved to a souped up SG02 system and my SilenT3 is sitting unused. I should sell it.

Hi Mike:

I have some people interested as well, so if you know of something in the works, please let me know.

I think they are looking for something in the 9300 IGP, C2D performance range, effectively silent around 15dB.

Thanks a lot,

Ian

Now more than 15 months? Any further news about certified systems from Anitec.

They've dropped out of the program for now.

Are they still a good source for recommended components? I'm starting to think of a replacement for my very quiet computer. Our daughter needs a new computer so I'm thinking of an upgrade to my current computer and giving her my current one.

Sure... tho I have to say the likes of NCIX, Memory Express & Tiger Direct are dominating retail computer component sales in Canada these days. You can always check out our "[ur=viewtopic.php?t=47169l]review samples outlet[/url]", too.

Is Anitech still a good source for building quiet systems? if they've dropped out of the program, are there still technicians there who understand quiet building?
