Post subject: Best CPU Heatsink For Antec NSK1380?

I am considering building a new PC using the Antec NSK1380 case. However, I would like to know the best (i.e quietest) cpu heatsink to use with it. I have seen that the Scythe Ninja Mini will fit with a little case modding but I am reluctant to get involved in that. I don't own a dremel afterall and don't want to buy one just for that.

Any other recommendations?

Oops, from what I can tell the build with the Scythe Ninja Mini is with no PSU inside the case so that is definitely not an option for me dremel or no dremel.

So what is the best heatsink for a standard build with this case?

I am starting to think this case might be a little too small for my needs. I need as small a matx cube case as possible to fit in the space I have for it to go in. However, it is going to be a gaming rig. Nothing over the top but with a fanless video card. Perhaps the NSK1380 is not the solution. However, there are very few cases around that fit bill.

Any heatsink recommendations for this case or other case recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Zalman 7700 in it and it barely fits. That being said, the Zalman 7000 should fit. People have also said that the Scythe Shruiken will fit.

I don't think it's really the best case to use a separate video card unless you remove the stock power supply.

I can concur on the 7000 fitting. That's what I use with mine. Seems like a decent option, even if it's an outdated heatsink design.

Thanks everyone. I think I may have to rethink my plans on using a cube case. It's going to be a bit cramped and I would rather not be restricted as to which heatsinks I can use. I'm going to look at mini towers and then rethink where the PC was going to go.

After looking at other options, I am back considering this case. Could you (or anyone else) please explain why this is not a good case to use a separate video card with?

I was looking at this video card: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... =GX-194-SP

The case; as it is, has very limited airflow. There are tiny slits on the sides which probably really do nothing. Then there are two slots on the front and the grill on the top.

It's really cramped and there's going to be cables all over the place. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure the heatsink will get in the way of the drive cage. Even if it did fit, you'd probably supplement with a slot fan of some sort because the power supply is the only real fan aside from the CPU cooler. I imagine that if it could be done but it would be noisy.

Can anyone recommend a better cube case then please? It can't be higher than 23cm though max.

Way too tall. I need under 23cm. Thanks though.

I am looking at the Silverstone Sugo SG01. Anyone know the difference between this and the SG02 other than the different facia?

This looks like a good option at the moment. Slightly bigger than the NSK1380 and a lot more cooling. Same heatsink height issues but I can live with that. It seems this is a better option for using a separate video card too.

Anyone got any experience of this case?
