Internal 2.5" removable drive bay for SSD

Post by j » Mon Sep 21, 2009 5:18 pm

The next PC I build will have an SSD for the system drive. I need to have it in an internal enclosure so I can remove the drive from the computer when it's not in use. The direct removable mounts where only the drive pulls out are not an option.

I'm looking for more options along the lines of this:

Main requirement is that it be SATA II compatible. Any fan will be removed since it's for an SSD. Additional things like USB compatibility are nice but not needed.

I've got my SSD in one of these. It works well, however the SATA cables that came with it were poor quality and caused problems with the SSD so I replaced them.

You could try these two products in conjunction:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

You drive would be protected in an enclosure when removed.
