Comments on this build?

Hey all,

I've poked around the articles and guides here and this is what I've come up with:

Phenom 720
http://tinyurl.com/cbocxh

Asus 790GX on combo special with the proc
http://tinyurl.com/bjdblh

4gb OCZ Reaper with intense looking heatspreaders
http://tinyurl.com/cnbj7a

Passively cooled radeon 4850
http://tinyurl.com/dfwq9v

Caviar Green 750gb
http://tinyurl.com/lmw8wz

Generic DVD burner
http://tinyurl.com/pspfya

As far as case and psu go I have no clue...poking around newegg the 230mm's on this one would give plenty of airflow to keep the 4850/720 cool, though its not a dampened case from the looks of it. My other thought was the CM Sileo that SPCR reviewed, but that seemed a bit lacking on airflow?

PSU I am equally lost...the ones that SPCR has reviewed are all crazy expensive, I'm wondering if its ok to go with this one as it has a lot more oomph than I will need...hopefully some temperature overhead there?

CPU Cooling I need some help in...the articles SPCR has on those just confused me =/

Thanks for the help!

Sounds like a solid lineup sofar. Just make sure CnQ is enabled for the CPU and pretty much any cooler should have no issues. (if you dont overclock that is). However if you dont mind underclocking somewhat, you can undervolt that CPU to the point where cooling it is insignificant.

for PSU go with the Corsair HX520 or similar. Absolutely fantastic unit. Realistically you wont need more then 350 watts for that rig. The 520 watt will be more then comfortable with that.

Either that or get almost anything Seasonic (who makes the corsair) in the 400-600 watt range. You really cant go wrong with them at all.

CPU cooling I have always liked the Skyth Ninja. Great performance for the price. The other choices are the Arctic Cooling Freezer's.

I have had one build using the Zalman 10xExtreame or whatever it is, I was not impressed with that cooler as it is far to big and bumps into the first set of dimm slots.

Cases there are lots of choices, My favorite brand is Antec, but there are some good alternitives to that as well.

my 2 cents
