FS: My computer stuff for sale ...

Post by andresgriego » Mon Jul 05, 2010 3:23 pm

Hello,

All items are sold, but thanks for looking!

I don't post much (ever) but I'm a big fan of this site and an avid silent pc enthusiast. And I always click the ads. :)

Here's some stuff I put on eBay that someone here might be interested in. Everything is used but in good condition. Please leave your comments too if you want.

The price given is the starting price for each:

Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H + Quad Core CPU + 2GB RAM $100

You really shouldn't put Quad on the title as it is misleading. It is not an 4x but an x2 that can unlock to 4.

How much is shipping to US?

Hello, thanks I appreciate your comment! I understand your point of view but I disagree since physically this is a quad core cpu and all four cores are fully functional. I think it deserves the annotation of 'Quad'. If only three cores unlocked I would have sold it as a 'Tri'. You're right though that if someone uses this cpu with an older chipset that cannot unlock cpu cores then all they get two but all this should be clearly apparent to the buyer, especially after they read the product description. Who else buys a motherboard+cpu+ram combo, they know what they're doing, they're going to install it themselves, that's the crowd we're dealing with. So consider again, is there really any harm in omitting a minor detail from the ad's title that doesn't even agree with reality anyway and when the buyer knows it's an unlocked cpu before they buy?

As for shipping, rates can be calculated on ebay by entering your zip code into the shipping calculator. If the rate seems high just message me or if the discrepancy between what you pay and what it ends up being is high then I'll refund the difference. I don't own a scale and I rely on weight values listed on the web along with approximations. I also don't trust online shipping calculators.

I think it will cost $20 for California, $25 for New York and anything in between for anything in between.
Hope that helps somewhat.

Sorry for the very late response - I'm considering the SSD for my ASUS R2H.
Can you give me your impretion on this SSD - is it much better then the 4200RPM HDD?
Thanks a lot!

Hello, sorry but I sold this stuff a while a go. I should have updated the status so I apologize for the confusion I caused.

Impression wise, the Sandisk 5000 was comparable to an imaginary drive with a rotational speed between 7200-10,000 RPM. In other words, the Sandisk was faster than a 7200 in most cases, but definitely not as fast as a Raptor (10k drive).

Take care dude!

for others

All items are sold, but thanks for looking.
