They make noise, too.

Nice find. Too bad the GTX 480 isn't on there, that would make the charts kinda interesting :P

Or impossible to read! With every other GPU clustered around the low end.

I would have liked a performance-per-watt analysis. They ran 3D Mark, so they have (or could have recorded) the data. It would have been trivial to divide by power consumption.

Thanks for the link. Nice to see they finally posted the English translated version of the article. Oh well, at least you didn't need to understand French just to view the graphs. :D

The last sentence in the article reads:

"...which, as we’ll see in a forthcoming report covering the subject of performance / watts..."

Their test of 146 CPU's is worth mentioning.

Thanks for the links Mats! :D

I'm currently looking to build a new system and power consumption/heat is something i'm taking into account. Well, after seeing those links, i'm not going to get a geforce 9800gt I was looking at as 40w idle/2d is way too much.

This is another good video card power comparison worth checking out: http://forums.atomicmpc.com.au/index.php?showtopic=264

An additional useful resource is the constantly update (as new reviews come in) list of power consumption by TechPowerUp:

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/HIS/ ... 70/27.html

The results / ranking are relatively very similar to that of BeHardware, even if the stress methodology and absolute numbers can differ somewhat.
