200,000 point club

Post by Hortalonus » Fri Sep 09, 2005 1:44 pm

Well, since we have such a successful and popular thread to mark the 100,000 point milestone, I thought it would be a good idea to instigate a 200,000 point thread. And since I am the latest to join the club, I figured I'm qualified to do it. So...

Congrats to me and everyone else who are on their way to 300,000 points!

And here's looking forward to welcoming Shathal and Dukla2000 into the club in the next few days.

Resurrecting an old thread but I've now made it to 200,000 points :D
There are now 24 folders with between 200,000 and 300,000 points and 38 with more :!:
Our highest points member has over 4,000,000 points (At my current rate ~12years!) and our most prolific folder is racking up ~11,000 points/day or about 20% of team’s output
Anyway go all, keep folding and remember a really quiet idle PC is child’s play but folding 100% 24/7 and staying dead quiet; now that’s proper work.
Regards, Seb

Thanks -- Nathan has now made it into the top 100 as well. His iMac CoreDuo (1.8gHz) is the reason I found out about the SMP client. As long as his cable modem doesn't malfunction anymore, he'll keep cranking out the points.

Stock speeds yes? My OCd E6400 is doing about the same (14 minute checkpoints).

I was kinda hoping for 3000PPD. :?

On the bright side that's as fast as a Phenom.

And with the coming price drops for intel circa April 20th, that's going to mean even less reason to buy an AMD quad. I sure hope AMD puts up some kind of competition soon. It seems like intel does its best design work when it feels threatened, and the price cuts on both sides make more folding power available to the masses for less money.

A 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Quad should be able to get you 3000PPD or maybe you could try the QX9650: for about 1100$ you'll get 4000PPD

That's what I wanted to do at first but then I was not sure if I wanted to pay 100$ more for a CPU just to fold faster so I bought the E8400. 2 cores is more than enough for my needs. Anyways, I'll fold with my 2600XT in a few weeks so what's the point...
