Hello I am kinda looking into buying a new P55 mobo with USB3.0/Sata6

Was looking into GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD4 ?

Anyone has any advice on mobo's they have tested or using so far?

Asus P7P55D-E LX if you don't need CrossFire.

I don't need crossfire, any reason you would take it above the P55A-UD4?

Price. If don't take advantage of CF on the P55A-UD4, the extra $60 you paid for it goes down the drain.

Well I have been thinking I might just take the CF you never know in the future if I would want to put in another one.

Now I am thinking about 2 motherboards

P55A UD4 (I think this one doesnt have the PLX chip so it will reduce the lanes for my vid card? anyone that can confirm this)?

Asus P7P55D-E Pro ( this one does have the PLX chip as far as I know )

Wich one is better to choose and is there any good gigabyte motherboard with the PLX chip? Or is reducing the lanes to 8x instead of 16x when using USB 3.0/SATA6 no problem for gaming?

Thanks :)

Scaling down to x8 will reduce performance of about ~2%, while down to x4 reduces performance of about ~5% (source: TechPowerUp!, GTX480, HD5870).

Just as a side note, generally speaking my personal preference goes to ASUS over Gigabyte, for their usually slight better BIOS and Super I/O capabilities (often good for silencers).

Yea well I have been thinking to go with the Asus P7P55D-E Pro then (this one has the PLX chip), the premium/deluxe cost to much for what I need (gaming).
