lian li seems like a quality case manufacturer... just a poor case designer.

About the back I/O not lining up properly, I've read that about the Q07 as well, IIRC.

I returned this case, because of the vibration of the hard drives and it is way to wide for an matx case.

Had my hopes up for a nice small case to house 8 drives, but how with the vibration problem I'm going to have to sit tight a little longer

Thats kinda disappointing. But what about for people who don't need space for massive amounts of HDDs? I was looking at this mostly as a smaller-sized gaming box with room for very big heatsinks. Is the width that big of an issue?

This may be a shot in the dark, but you've done a string of Lian-Li case reviews now - I would love to see an SPCR review of the just-released PC-X500FX. In no way could it be ever be worth the price, but I'd still like to hear someone that I respect say something nice about it before I buy one.

I own both a Q07 and the PC-V354 - no issues with misaligned I/O shields on any of them.

How much space is there between the graphics card and the PSU? Is there enough space for a full-cover water block?

I'm not a fan of this one, but Lian-Li has no preconceived ideas about cases, so it's always exciting to see their creations. I see European influence in their designs recently... schön

There was about 1.9 cm between the edge of the graphics card PCB and power supply, and 12.1 cm between the graphics card and front fan grill.

I have this case on order with my local PC store, and I'm buying my accessories now.. can anyone tell me the minimum length of SATA cable I can reliably use for 3 drives located in the top drive cage and the DVD slot? I have a choice of 10cm/20cm/30cm and would like to reduce cable clutter.

I am a bit confused as to the available clearance for CPU HSF though... on page 4 of the review you show this image:

My confusion comes from the fact that Noctua's website indicates the "height" above the CPU for the NH-C12P including a 25mm fan is 114mm, i.e. 4mm more than the 11cm total clearance you stated existed in the case?!? Given I have an actual NH-C12P heatsink here in a system, and can confirm the Noctua website spec of 114mm height, I have to suspect the 11cm total clearance figure is incorrect?

QUESTIONS:
(#1) When you say there was 20mm between the heatsink and the PSU, was that measurement taken with or without a fan in place on the heatsink?

(#2) How thick is the fan in those images, (which appears to be SPCR's long suffering Nexus 120)??

Finally, the next image on page 4 shows the NH-C12P and fan in place with the PSU installed:



QUESTIONS:
(#3) How much clearance was there between the top of that fan and the inside of the PSU?

(#4) I see your other review article on the Noctua NH-C14 heatsink, which supposedly can be used in "low profile mode" with a single fan for a height of 105mm -- Any thoughts as to whether the NH-C14 would fit in the Lian-Li PC-V354 case?

Just some feedback for the editor's note on page 7 - I realize that the PC-V354 case proportions may seem a bit awkward for use on top the the desk... but it will fit perfectly on the bottom shelf of one of these carts, which is the target location for my next build.

The system has long since been dismantled, so double-checking measurements is out. Let's just say there was enough room for the NH-C12P + 120x25mm fan. The rest you will have to figure out/estimate from the pics.

As for the Noctua NH-C14 heatsink, it looks doable. Depends mostly on the CPU socket position in the motherboard.

Alas, my plans for a "Sandy Bridge" build have been rendered moot - will likely be deferred for a few months, at least until the ground in the DIY market stops shaking from Intel's latest earthquake.

Hideous case. Ugly as sin and with horrid proportions. All of the "nice touches" (thumbscrews everywhere, fan filters + rubber grommets on the same assembly) are wasted if you think a little about the way they implemented them.
And what's the point with so many fan slots? Why not sealing up the top, include a rear fan and vent the side panel? This box is just full of wrong.

I tried the H60 and H70 but they will not fit without any modifications which I am not willing to do.... I was thinking og the Noctura but pricey.. will the Above work? I havbe the H55n and modified the case... and other Lian Li mini ITX case to work.. but this one I need the 8 drives to get it to work so no need to have a expensive server..

Doesn't a tower cooler fit inside this case right over the PSU?

I'm talking about the Noctua U12P but if that doesn't fit, how about the asymmetrical Antec Kuhler Flow? I'm guessing that would help a hot video card a lot!

Does the 320mm height include the feet, or is it top of case to bottom of case excluding feet? I need this info for designing a mod of the case, thanks in advance.
