Great blog for the day.
The single slot 6850 looks awesome yum. green power even better.
I really love the lesson on LCD's. That is fantastic. I noticed it ended with TFT explanation. What is the difference then to my IPS monitor? I know it can present more color complexity and clarity etc, (and costs like 3x as much lol). But just wondering...

Looking at the table at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TFT_LCD#In ... _.28IPS.29 it seems the terms TFT and IPS are used for too many types of screens to make any certain comments on differences. Who knows what you have compared to that mess of terminology
edit: after further reading it appears TN Film, S-IPS, MVA and PVA are panel types and TFT is a term that applies to more than one panel type so the answer for you is: There is no difference between TFT and IPS they are terms of a different classification.

My first thought: never have to spit into the diving mask again.
