Hi,

I'm having difficulty choosing a power supply for my HTPC. This is the build currently (I have all these components):

Case - Moneual 320
M/B - ASUS A8AE-LE
CPU - Athlon XP X2 4800+
GPU - ATI Radeon 4550
RAM - 2x 1GB
SSD - 40GB Intel 320 Series
HDD - 1TB WD Caviar Green
DVD/Blue-ray drive to come

Do you think this could be supported by a PICO PSU, something like the 120 or 150W version?

My other option is to go for the Enermax eco80+ but I don't seem to be able to get hold of the 500W version which has such a good review on SPCR. Would the 350/400W versions have the same noise and efficency characteristics?

Cheers.

Are you undervolting / underclocking?

I googled the Athlon X2 4800+, and it has a TDP of 110W. I think this plus your discrete graphics could easily exceed 150W at stock, under high load :(

***EDIT*** Wow, I did not realize the Radeon 4550 is TDP 25W... I assumed it was closer to 40W. You should be good with a 150W supply with no optical drive. With one, it probably depends on the drive. (Does anyone have ODD power consumption information? Google did not bear me much fruit)
