My first hard drive suspension

Hi all,

I'm new here but I've been posting over at Anandtech for quite a while. Anyway, I just wanted to share my first hard drive silencing project. Inspired by some of the threads I saw here (especially Aphonos' suspension setup), I decided to suspend my 1TB, 2 platter Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C from elastic shock cord.

Here's the final result. How does it look?

It looks very good. Have you noticed any big changes in noise?

The noise characteristic is much reduced. The drive is still somewhat audible during heavy random seeks, but it's much more muted than it was before.
