Best/largest CPU cooler for ASUS P8Z68-V i2500k P183
I'm trying to find a few suggestions on the best bank for buck cooler for my rig.
CPU 2500k
antec 183 case
asus P8z68 pro mother board
Price is not an option but the best value would be appreciated. I don't plan on overclocking for a while so i'm looking for the largest and most efficient cooler i will attach a low flow can to it i believe. going to buy from newegg business and wondering what would be best

The two best price/performance cooler are,
XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus
Check if you will have enough clearance with the ram your buying, and if you will have enough clearance on the case.
There are better and bigger coolers like Thermalright Silver Arrows, Noctua NC14, Thermalright HR02, etc, but much more expensive than two above. If you dont like the fans, just swap them for whatever you like.

out of those two which one is better or is it a wash? also is it worth getting the larger ones? I plan to get a fanless 5770 so there will be decent amount of heat in case. i will have case fans but maybe getting a larger one is better for me but i will definitely keep those two in mind

Re: Best/largest CPU cooler for ASUS P8Z68-V i2500k P183
between the D14, silver arrow , and Hr-02 which one is considered the best with a large low fan?
Re: Best/largest CPU cooler for ASUS P8Z68-V i2500k P183
I found only one review site which has all of the pitted against each other with reference fan:
PC-Experience
With a single low rpm fan the HR-02 is slightly ahead, if the fan speed increases its the Silver Arrow.
But they're all too close together. The Prolimatech Megahelem and the Thermalright Archon are also only a few degrees behind, and all of them are tested with a 120mm fan while some are optimized for a 140mm fan...
If you use only the rear case fan the Prolimatech Genesis has the smallest gap between cooler and fan and might pull ahead...
Any of these are great and it depends on the fan and where you place it.

With a low rpm fan i would go with HR02, but its more expensive and the difference is small from the $30 coolers up, but it has larger separation on the fins so its more intended for passive or low rpm fans, i would probably wait for the Thermaltake Macho HR-02, its a new revision/version, much cheaper (like half the price of the HR02), and comes with the fan already, this fan is PWM, and your mobo can control the fan via bios/software depending on your needs, mine is spinning at 700rpm atm. Check if the P183 has enough clearance to fit HR02 162mm height.wonderland130 wrote:between the D14, silver arrow , and Hr-02 which one is considered the best with a large low fan?

The HR-02 Macho just came out for $39.95 list and includes a well reviewed fan. It may be the best deal out there right now.wonderland130 wrote:between the D14, silver arrow , and Hr-02 which one is considered the best with a large low fan?
