more quiete CPU Fan need

Post by Stryder57 » Sun Jan 05, 2003 10:22 am

I need a fairly strong CPU fan.
I would like one that pushes 39CFM of air.
I know I'm asking to much for a super quiet one.
Does any one know of a fan that is on the quiet side but still has air flow.
I currently have an everFlow 80mm, 39CFM and 28dBa.
This is the factory spec and they dont fully live up to that.
It is more like 30dB to 35 dB with 39CFM, maybe even louder.

Thanks :D

Youll need a 120mm fan to make that kind of airflow and keep it quiet.

A typical "quiet" 80mm fan will push sortah 27cfm, once you get above 30cfm'ish its hard to stay quiet.

I have though about a 120mm fan but I do have some questions.
The first worry is the dead air spot on 120mm fan. The middle axial of the fan block some of the air flow on big fans. Couldn't reduce the over all cooling of the CPU? Has any one found this to be a problem?
I have a Heat Sink that takes 60mm fans, Cool Master HC001 (the one with the heat pipes) . Has any one seen a 60mm to 120mm fan adapter and where I could purchase one in the US.
Right now Im using a 60mm to 80mm adapter.

Thanks :D
