Post by Airhead » Wed Jul 20, 2011 8:02 am

Hello there I need help.
I have re applied mx-4 loads of time using blob method and line method with basically same results .
System
I7 930 stock clock
Mobo ASus p6t se
12 gig corsair dominator
His radeon 5770 ice-q
noctua nh-u12p se2 with 1 fan on full speed
Antec p183
1 noctua fan in lower chamber intake at 800rpm
1 scythe gentle typhoon intake at 1200rpm
Top fan is noctua lowspin 600rpm and The back fan nexus at Max speed
Now Ambient is around 26c
And i idle at 40-44

When i run prime95 64bit
Hwmonitor shows temps of 66,62,64,60
If i Play wow i get à Max temp of 53c

Is this normal
Please help :)

Try the method described here: http://www.arcticsilver.com/pdf/appmeth ... e_v1.1.pdf ... it's for AS5, but the method is good regardless of the particular thermal paste you intend to use

Your temps seem fine.
Idle temps might be a few degree higher than avarage but still within the sample variance of i7 9xx. Temps should get lower over time (~2 weeks) of applying th MX. I'm using MX-1 on an i7 2600K and idle temps dropped about 5 degree withing a few weeks.
