 Post subject: Fractal "midi arc" for a silent pc?

Hi,

is this case enought silent to be on 24/7 in a bedroom? My concern are the hard-disk vibration

I don't have the problem of The dicrete graphic card and the cpu in cooled by noctua

My experience with those drive mounts is that the grommets are good for dampening 5400 RPM drives. Most 7200 RPM drives would generate a idle whirr that would leak out of an open case anyway, and the arc is quite mesh'y. ;) The Define or Define Mini would in general be better choices for a quiet build.

I'm looking now for a atx case the define don't have usb3 front panel ouput

Suggestions?

you're right, only the define mini has the USB3.0 up top, but it's micro-ATX. The fractals are such great, silent cases, that I would probably get the R3 and just get a 3.5" usb front breakout (if you've got the space).

Fractal Design now have a USB3.0 front-panel upgrade-kit for the R3 and XL.

Looks like they have "Define R3 USB3.0" cases listed on their site now. Wonder when they'll reach NA though...
