The most extreme mini-ITX gaming rig ever - MAX11Lv3

Post by miahallen » Sat Nov 12, 2011 9:51 pm

I just finished a build I've been working on for a customer. He requested a system to fulfill these requirements.
  • small
  • lightweight
  • very powerful
  • unique
  • cutting edge gaming performance

If you like what you see here, be sure to check out the full build log for details :)

This is what the layout looks like prior to putting in the optical drive tray....it's a really tight squeeze!

And here are the final shots of the system. The customer is planning to replace the feet with something a bit more athetically pleasing once he finds something he likes.

Since both fans and the pump are temp controlled, this rig is peacefully quiet at idle, and its not obnoxious at full load, although it is not silent, the noise is not annoying either ;)

I welcome your comments and criticisms :)

Taking nothing away from the accomplishment, I was disappointed to discover that was a fake CF veneer. I want more real CF in technology...

Yeah...I wish I had the skill/resources for that too! Unfortunately, faux is much easier/cheaper...and my only real option. Looks good considering ;)

Yes, he was quite pleased. Except the feet which he's planning to replace when he fines something he likes better.
I think he might also re-make the res/pump bracket I fabricated, the alignment on it could be better....as it is, it really relies on the front panel for final alignment, so its hard to tell in the pictures. But he's pretty handy too, so I think he'll be able to do it :)

Nice build!
I like the way the PSU is mounted against the radiator, that's really clever, and the cables are sleeved neatly.

I was gonna ask abut those, otherwise it looks perfect.
