well the main idea is to use 2 holes for one purpose and the other two holes for the other purpose.

Hi, I just realised what you're asking. Yes it works easily, use the short/case side of the soft screw through the grill and case so the grill is held tight to the case and the long fan side just in the fan as normal. There will be a spacer on the screw between the fan and case that ensures the soft mounting.

Thanks! I've envisioned something similar but where can I find such a soft screw?

I used the blue "EAR" grommets and 6/32 screws to decouple an exhaust fan on this pc7, but must take care with the compression of the grommets.

Seems like the main source for Ear grommets doesn't ship to Europe.
