faugusztin what cpu cooler are you using in your PC-Q09? How much clearance do you have to fit in a cooler?

I have the Lian Li PC-Q09F which is the same size as the PC-Q09 except it is 124mm high as opposed to 110mm. What would you recommend for the PC-Q09F?

Scythe Kozuti, which has about 20mm clearance (40mm high). I ordered Coolermaster GeminII M4, which should have 1mm clearance (but the holes should be right above it), it should arrive tomorow.

In other words, the clearance from the top of the motherboard up till the upper panel is 60mm in my case, for the F version it should be that 1,5cm more. GeminII is 58-59mm high, Kozuti is 40mm high. Kozuti is unfortunately running at relatively high RPM all the time (~2000RPM), which i hope will be fixed by switching to GeminII M4. In your case, it will be GeminII M4 without questions, you will have 1,5cm clearance for the fan which should be more than enough.

This how it looks with Kozuti (the 54mm high Dominator was in the case just for testing, btw it fits too - and if you add few mm for the memory slot itself, plus the 1-2mm you got above the module, you end up with the mentoined 60mm again) :

Have you considered the NH-L12 CPU cooler with just the underfan?

Fitted with both NF-B9 92mm PWM and NF-F12 'focused flow' 120mm PWM fans the NH-L12 CPU cooler is intended for use in small form factor/HTPC systems. Weight is 415g, dimensions are 93mm high, by 128mm width and 150mm depth. Without the top 120mm fan, the height is 66mm. The NH-L12 comes with the Noctua SecuFirm2 mounting kit. There is also a mini-ITX mounting kit that Noctua says is for "... some Intel based Mini-ITX mainboards (that) don’t allow for the installation of backplates. The NH-L12 thus comes with an extra set of Intel mounting bolts which make it possible to install the cooler without using the SecuFirm2 backplate...".

The NH-L12 is supplied with a 'Y' PWM splitter cable, and two PWM low-noise adapter cables. The PWM low-noise adapter cable changes the range of the fans from 300-1600 rpm to 300-1300 rpm.

No, i didn't. As i said, maximum cooler height in the PC-Q09 (the non-F version) is 60mm. 66>60.

Edit: GeminII M4 with the fan doesn't fit. Without the fan (passive) it fits.

I have the Lian Li PC-Q09F and fitted a Scythe Shuriken rev B CPU cooler 64 mm in height. Fits perfectly, combines silence and performance. The actual clearance isn't 60 mm as Lian Li states, it's about 65 mm.

Need to replace the noisy Flex PSU. What's the passive version in your picture faugusztin? Any other ideas on silent Flex PSU replacement..?
