Repair/replace bad four pin molex plugs on power supplies
Are there any repair/replace solutions for bad molex plugs on power supplies?

You can buy replacement molex plugs from sources such as this one http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/mamoco.html. There is also a selection of molex pin removal tools available, for example http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/mamopinpu.html.

Old PSUs (and computers) can often be found in the local electronics recycle bin. Great source for legacy stuff like molex connectors.

There's plenty of that stuff around but the bad plugs may be how that cr*p got there in the first place.
That mod smart link seemed to be the ticket (above) but like right angle molex plugs (to give less pressure when removing) they get sold out and seem to stay that way.

I think PerformancePCs has kits you can buy to do this.

I can honestly say that I've never had to throw a PSU away because of broken molex plugs. Molex connectors break stuff like hands and fingers, not the other way around.loninappleton wrote:There's plenty of that stuff around but the bad plugs may be how that cr*p got there in the first place.

Ok. I've just gotten back on here after a bunch of password snafus and now recall that SPC gave the pointer to performance pcs previously.
What kind of kit is needed to to a simple repair job (sorry about not catching misspelling in the subject line.)
