Undervolt/clock settings for 4850e

Post by Schroinx » Sun Mar 25, 2012 6:19 am

I recently upgraded my whs server and in the process lost all undervolting/underclocking settings for the 4850e cpu. And now I can't find the post where I found the settings in the first place.

I'm using following parameters for 4850e:
1G @ 0.85V
2.5G @ 1.2V

Sadly, 4850e is antiquated given latest CPU's idle power consumption. :?

Thx. Works like a charm. I have mine on 1,075 for 2,5ghz. Running prime now :-)

True about the new CPUs. I wonder however what it'll cost me to get a new CPU, mobo etc and how much I will save on the energy bill.

My current setup for the whs running whs11 is the 4850e, a 780G mobo, 4gb ram, a 300w high eff psu, sata pci controller and 7 1-3tb HDs. The HDs are using more power than the rest of the machine. I plan on replacing the smaller drives with 3tb when prices comes down again. I'll just have to see I guess.

Ya, it doesn't make much sense to dump 4850e to save a few watts. I guess I'll continue using it in the foreseeable future as well. :)
