intel d2700dc

Post by drorgon » Sun Jul 08, 2012 4:16 am

Hi

i have an intel d2700dc board,
it has a PCMCIA port onboard,
you can see it here :
http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/1410

it has a rectangle drawing on the board and some pins to connect it to the board,

my question is, what can i do with it ?
can a normal PCMCIA card connect to there ?

thanks

I'm not aware there's a PCMCIA header on this board.
I'm not sure what you're talking about. The miniPCIe connector maybe? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Expres ... _Mini_Card
If you really needed to use a PCMCIA card I guess you could use a PCMCIA controller card. But in most cases, you'd be better off getting a different device to perform the same function.

Could you post the idle and load temperatures you're getting with this board by the way?

my mistake,

it is a "PCI Express Full-/Half-Mini Card slot"
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboar ... 032653.htm

but i cant see what card can fit there,

i just got the board, i will have it assembled in a weak so i will have more details.

thanks

Check the wikipedia link that HFat posted and you could also have a look at this page, for instance, to see some examples of various MiniPCIe cards.

i had a little problem ( i didn't have a usb keyboard ) so i cant yet test the board on load,
But i plugged it in with a usb mouse a DVI display and a WI PicoPsu,

i measured a 0.165 A current with my FLUKE from the wall ( 230VAC )
which is ~ 38W this is on idle without an operating system and just the "no operating system present" on the start-up

the rest of the results will be in a week.
