I have the 1150rpm and 800rpm Scythe Gentle Typhoon. I recommend the 800rpm version because i hear a high tone when i undervolt the 1150rpm with fanexpert 2.
I actually happened to salvage a slip stream from my neighborhoods junkpile room. The 800rpm slip stream was very silent indeed but i recommend the GT because they cool better at same sound levels as the slip stream.

What about this Nexus "Real Silent Basic Series"?Palindrome wrote:I think I'm going to try the 120mm 800rpm Slipstream too. They're only $9.49 at Newegg while the Real Silent prices doubled since I bought those things ($20 is ridiculous).

It's only $12. Are they any good?

Good choice. I have the 800 slip stream and while i feal the gentle typhoon series outperforms it in airflow it is without a doubt very quiet.Palindrome wrote:I think I'm going to try the 120mm 800rpm Slipstream too. I was going to buy another Real Silent to use as an exhaust, but I might try a Slipstream after reading that. They're both pretty much the same price.
