Panaflo fan tail connector same as WOL connector

Post by silencio » Sat Nov 16, 2002 2:45 pm

I noticed the Panalfo fan tail connector is the same as the connector on a WOL cable. Seeing how WOL cables are really cheap and plentiful, maybe this is a good way to save on paying for fan tails, which sometimes cost more than the fan itself. The problem is WOL cables have the same connector on both ends, and the pin spacing is nowhere close to that for the standard 3-pin connector.

Anyone have any ideas?

What's a WOL cable? Do you have any links to pictures?

Sheesh, how much are your paying for fan tails? I hope you're not buying them from a certain overpriced Texas-based retailer. I've seen them for US$2, which isn't dirt cheap, but not exactly bank-breaking, either. If you just want appropriate 3-pin molex connectors (to attach to bare leads or what not), you can pick those up for under US$1, or you can butcher a 3-pin extension cable (around US$1) and splice the wires.

I made a post in the Hot Deals & Classifieds forum with the sites where I saw these prices (all US vendors). (I don't want to promote vendors in the normal SPCR forums.)

I get my panaflo L1As tailed with 4 or 3 pin connectors for a mear $6.50. Not sure where you are getting yours at. Of course if you are handy with a soldering gun you can make your own for about $.02....I would rather have mine done by a professional though.
