Fractal R3 - how to remove fan doors?
Is there a safe way to remove the front fans' grilled doors like on the P182? They really restrict airflow.

I'm wondering does the airflow actualy go trough the fan doors? i have a fractal design mini and there the air bypasses the fandoors but comes from the sides behind the fan doors. (there might of course be some leakage and removing the doors might actualy improve airflow but only in a very limited way.)

I can feel the airflow is noticeably larger when I open the doors.

But then you would have both the case door and fan door open. i believe when you remove the fan door but close the case front door only a small amount would leak through the front case door.
And if you keep the front casedoor open there would be no benefit of the sound absorbtion and isolation of the door. With my fractal design mini i notice a big increase in sound from my pc when i open the front door

Yeah the air that might come in through that grille is insignificant at best. The large vents on the side of the front construct provide ample intakes by themselves. There's also an extra hole in the bottom of the front face. The plastic grilles are on the outer side of these intakes, so air coming in does not have to pass through them.

Ah, yes, you're right. The front door being closed would negate any benefit.
