I've bought the following items:

1. AAEON PICO-CV01 Motherboard

If you see the following image of the motherboard, you'd notice that there's no 20/24 pin connection - Only a 4 pin power -> 12v Molex connection to power up the motherboard:

How do I control the PicoPSU's power supply (If it's on or off), when powering off my motherboard? Normally the 20/24 pin "controls" the power supply.

In my case I would power on the PicoPSU with a paperclip shortcircuiting two pins in the 20/24 pin connection cable.

Strange little thing that board. Looks expensive. What made you go with that board rather than say a miniITX board?

You don't need a picoPSU to power that motherboard. The board just want +12v in.

What you could do if you want to use the PicoPSU or another ATX power supply is to hook up to the ATX12V connector and then attach a switch between the green wire on the 24-pin ATX connector and one of the black connectors. The PicoPSU does not have the colours so this may not help but basically by shorting these pins the PSU will start up. This is how the motherboard starts up the PSU in computer normally.

I would also suggest you don't use the PicoPSU because you don't need it. Have you asked the SBC OEM for PSU suggestions? There are many 12V open frame PSUs available from component specicalists like RS.

I chose that motherboard because of the ultra low power consumption (5-7 watts - Motherboard + cpu + hdd).
After reading your replies, I just realised that I don't need a "full blown" PSU to power this little beast. I could just go with a direct molex PSU, like the following:

instead of a pico PSU or simple molex wall wart, I would run it off a pico UPS with a battery back up. sweet!

regardless of how you decide to power it, please, please, please, share a mini review of that mobo when you getting it up and running! it looks like a really nice little piece of kit!
