Case and fans for my fanless system

Post by blueven » Mon Nov 26, 2012 2:19 pm

Hi, i'm italian.
I would create a fanless configuration for study/work.
These are the components i think to use:

- cpu i7-3770
- ssd samsung 830 128GB
- RAM DDR3 Corsair Vengeance Blue Low Profile CML8GX3M2A1600C9B 1600MHz 16GB (4x4GB) CL9
- Seasonic X-460 Alimentatore ATX Modulare Fanless da 460W
- Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7750 Ultimate
- Thermalright HR2 macho rev A
- AsRock Z77 Extreme4 or Extreme4-M

All components are fanless, except hr2 macho, but i will test if i can get low temprature without fan on it.

I must choose a case and eventually quiet fans for it.
I would a very quiet system, my use is for study/work, not gaming. Sapphire hd 7750 ultimate is for using 3 or more monitors.

I like fractal design define R4, but i think i need to change the fans. I don't know about ultra quiet fans, so i don't know what choose.
This is my first silnet pc.

What you can advice to me?

Thanks in advance.

I just picked up some of these cougar fans and am very pleased with them. They were on sale over thanksgiving for 10 so I'd expect them to be on sale again for X-mas. I run 2 intakes and 1 exhaust.

The noctua fans I have are also very quiet but i prefer the sound signature of the cougars. I did have an issue with running a mixture. My cpu fans are noctua and the exhaust fan is less than 2 inches from the pull fan. I was getting a strange whine/whirl sound. A little tweaking with easy tune took care of it.

How much airflow do you need?

You should also spend some time reading the SPCR guide
