A 7.4x5.0mm power jack for a PicoPSU?

Hello there.

We cleaned the stores at my workplace and threw out a lot of equipment that was no longer needed, including a few power bricks for laptops we've stopped using, some of them unused. I've picked one, a 120W for an HP laptop, and ordered a PicoPSU 120-WI-25, planning to pair the two. When the PicoPSU arrived, I was quite surprised to discover that there are quite a lot of different DC power jacks and the PicoPSU did not match the power brick... A newbie mistake.

So no I need a way to pair the two. The power brick has a 7.4x5.0mm with a center pin connector while the PicoPSU has a 5.5x2.5mm one. I've been scouring the Internet for the past few days but couldn't locate a matching adapter. Another option would be to replace the 5.5x2.5 connector altogether, but again, I was unable to find a mini fit jr (which, as far as I could tell, is the name of that 4 pin square connector) to 7.4x5.0 adapter.

Am I stuck with a pair of incompatible pieces or is there a solution?

You are going to need to cut one or the other off, find the matching replacement, and solder it on (or switch both connectors to something else entirely that you can get both male and female of).

Make sure you get + and - correct too!

This might help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coaxial_power_connector
