Hello,
I was just about to pull a trigger on MSI Twin Frozr 7850, as it seems to be the quietest 7850. But, thn I noticed that for the asking price, 220$, I can get 660, which is a stronger card.
Is there a 220$ MAX 660 card that's as quiet as 7850 Twin Frozr?

How about the MSI GTX 660? Here's a summary of card reviews.

I've seen that thread, but was wondering if there is a consensus here, among users, which one is quietest, since some reviews are diametrically oppositeCA_Steve wrote:How about the MSI GTX 660? Here's a summary of card reviews.
One of them says Asus DC2 is the quietest video card ever, than the other says it's noisy and not for people looking for quiet computer. Same thing about MSI.
I know it's subjective, and depends on many factors, but still, one would think there would be more consistency among reviews.
While I have, maybe, someone's attention, is it possible to find a card with worldwide warranty? For example, I buy it in USA, and use the warranty (hopefully never) in Europe (Croatia, Switzerland)?
Re: 7850 vs 660
Don't think you'll find consensus. In general, MSI and Asus have decent solutions. Asus seems to run quieter but hotter and MSI tends to have better VRM cooling. In specific, their heatsink/heatpipe/fans/fan profiles vary with every card they put out. There's also the issue of quality control - there's always the chance that the cooler isn't mounted well / bad fit. For grins, I wandered through Amazon and Newegg reviews. Of the 80 or so MSI reviews, there weren't any 1-3 star mentions of high temps or fan noise. Of the 40 or so Asus reviews, two 1-3 star reviews mentioned high heat/fan issues.

I guess I'll go with either Asus DC2 or MSI TF, depending which one offers better warranty and repair conditions.
