I'm new to Sandy Bridge-E CPUs. Are these roughly normal/expected values?
Idle: Cores range from 29-34 C
After running Prime95: Cores range from 59-63 C
Ambient is 22 C
CPU: Xeon E5-1650 (equivalent to i7-3930K) (3.2/3.8 GHz, 130W TDP)
CPU cooler: Megahalems Rev C with Nexus 120mm PWM fan (currently maxing out at 1250 RPM)
System fans: Two 140mm front fans and two 120mm rear fans, all running around 800 RPM
TIM: Arctic Silver 5 (7 year old tube)
Maxing out the CPU fan (around 1800 RPM) and the case fans (around 1200 RPM) maybe knocks 1 C off the load temps.
Thanks in advance!
Reasonable temps for Xeon E5-1650 (equivalent to i7-3930K)

Re: Reasonable temps for Xeon E5-1650 (equivalent to i7-3930
Can anyone please help me out? Are temps in the 59-63 C range OK for an i7-3930K / E5-1650 when testing with Prime95?
Re: Reasonable temps for Xeon E5-1650 (equivalent to i7-3930
Everything below 90°C does not trigger throtteling, so i see no reason why temps around 70ish should not be ok.

Yeah, I have a dual xeon system where one cpu is usually in the 70s, and it seems ok. It's a little hard on the power supplies, but the cpus seem to be doing fine.
