How hot will you go...
How hot do y'all let your GPU get before letting the GPU's fan(s) be heard?
Personally, I keep my GPU's fan speeds below 45% (inaudible) until the GPU reaches 70C. At that point, the GPU fans bump up to 50% and can be slightly heard. From there, I bump up the % by 10 for every 5 degrees above 70C (so 60% for 75C, etc.).
Keep in mind, I'm not talking case fan speeds...just GPU fan(s).

Clearly your fan curve isn't working most effectively if you have to bump up by another 10% for each 5C. If the extra 10% was sufficient, it wouldn't get another 5C hotter and have another increase in fan speed.

Forgive me if i sound dumb but isn't that the idea of a curve ?
That it goes up as it gets hotter until the fan is spinning just fast enough to keep the card from down clocking or crashing ?

This depends on card. I've had some which only give artefacts at 115C and others that give artefacts as low as 80C. All cards onward from Nvidia 500 series and AMD 6000 series now have built in power regulator circuitry as well as the ability to down clock when things get to hot.edh wrote:This depends on card.
